Educating the Whole Child
At Horizon Private School – American Branch, our academic philosophy is grounded in a single conviction: every child has the capacity to excel when they are known, challenged, and genuinely supported. We build academic Programs that develop knowledge, skills, character, and the confidence to use all three in a complex world.
Excellence Today, Leaders Tomorrow.
Horizon’s curriculum spans every stage of learning, from the play-based foundations of Early
Childhood through the Advanced Placement rigor of High School. Every division is designed to build on
the last — providing continuity, coherence, and the progressive challenge every child needs to grow.

Enriched inquiry, critical thinking, and deepening academic skills.
Preparation for higher education, leadership, and life success through Advanced Placement and college-readiness programs.
Horizon’s teaching is student-centered and inquiry-driven. Teachers design learning experiences that activate prior knowledge, demand critical thinking, and connect academic content to real-world contexts. Active learning, collaboration, and reflection are non-negotiables in every classroom.
Horizon integrates blended learning and educational technology to enhance instruction and deepen engagement. Classrooms combine face-to-face teaching with digital tools, online resources, and interactive platforms, creating a flexible learning environment tailored to student needs. Technology supports collaboration, research, creativity, and personalized learning, empowering students to explore concepts independently and apply knowledge in authentic ways.
Language learning is a cornerstone of our curriculum. Students engage with:
Comprehensive development in literacy, communication, critical reading, and analytical writing across all grade levels.
Rooted in UAE national requirements and cultural identity. Delivered through a structured basal reading program aligned with the UAE MoE curriculum. Arabic A for native speakers; Arabic B for non-native learners.
Introduced from early grades. Students progress to DELF certification at A1, B1, and B2 levels, opening pathways to French-medium university study for High School graduates.
Horizon offers Advanced Placement courses for High School students seeking university-level rigor and the opportunity to earn college credit. AP courses are available across core subject areas.
Growing Minds. Growing Character.
Horizon does not set traditional homework. Through our School-Home Connect approach, home supports learning in formats that fit family life – connection, conversation, and real-world application rather than worksheets.
